Gear Sets - Builds - how many sets do you carry

As I now have 55 gear set pieces (several full sets) and with 66 backpack slots - how many gear sets do you carry around switching out for different encounters?

I carry a weapon of each type but generally only one setup (6 pieces of gear).  It seems that you could carry 4 full sets (or 24 pieces of mix and match) and each weapon type and still have half a backpack of free slots.

With the exception of my HE set, all of my builds are 4pc of the listed set and 2 HE or named pieces.

Toon 1:

Primary - Predator's Mark

Alternate - D3-FNC

Toon 2:

Primary - Tactician's Authority

Alternate - HE (currently a work-in-progress)

Toon 3:

Primary - Reclaimer

Alternate - Banshee

Stash: I've probably got 1 of each of the other sets, in addition to backups of my favorite HE pieces.

To answer your questions, I carry 2 sets on each toon (max 12 pieces of gear, some toons use a piece or two for both builds)  and I carry a primary and secondary for each set.  All of those items are locked (favorite) to make it easier for me to switch between builds until we get loadouts and to keep from accidentally breaking them down.

Using this layout, I'll typically carry about 30-35 pieces and have 65-69 total inventory slots on my toon when I've cleaned out my inventory (before leaving BoO/safehouse/checkpoint).  My stash is usually full, but at least 1x per time I play I go through and do a quick comparison looking for duplicate set pieces in the stash and taking the lowest quality ones to either sell or break down.

I now have 75 pieces -

Toon 1 (G36 C, Enhanced AUG A3P, sawed off)
Fire Crest Ammo Tracing Mask
fire crest distribution holster
fireCrest Acquisition vest
Strikers gloves
Strikers Knee Pad
Strikers Pack

Toon 2 (G36 E, M700 Carbon, X-45)
Hunter's Faith Gloves
Hunter's Faith Holster
Hunter's faith mask
Predator's Mark Backpack
Predator's Mark Knee pads
Predator's Mark Vest

Complete list
Alpha Bridge (-mask)|
Banshee (-backpack)
D3 (-holster)
DeadEYE(-gloves)
Final (full)
firecrest (full)
Hunter’s (-chest)
Lone Star (-chest, backpack, holster)
Nomad(-knee)
Predator (-holster)
reclaimers(-chest,knee)
Sentry’s (full)
Strikers (full)
Tacticians (-backpack, mask)

I have not tried to optimize/re-calibrate anything yet.  Or even put a good mix on as the gear was used as I found it.  But getting close to having a complete set.  Now I need to setup gear for specific scenarios.  I did try D3 a bit and strikers a bit - What fun!

A lot of the non gear set items aren't worth considering. However it is good to try and get a good Specialised Backpack, Savage Gloves, and a recent one in vogue is the Nimble Holster.

OK, right now I am carrying one set, but with load-outs that will change.  The problem is I have 3 toons with diff teams - gona be interesting to see how load-outs really work.  BUT - I like it!

The key to remember is with load outs, you'll be able to create up to 6 load outs for a toon, but you'll have to have all the weapons/gear on your toon in order to be able to utilize all of your load outs.  From what I understand, if you have gear in your stash and it's on a load out you select you'll be prevented from using the load out and will get a message why.  Load outs are still in PTS, but I don't see them changing this element.

Taking that into account, I'd suggest getting used to carrying all the weapons and gear on your toon that you think you'll want load outs for.  You'll get a feel for how the load works and how your full your inventory will be.

yeah, I played with um on PTS - very nice change.  And yes you have to have the gear with you, but we have plenty of slots (6*9=54 still room for loot with most backpacks)  And you can't change in combat - but hey what a way to make it easy to pack up for a series of battles that you are going after!  And it's really prolly 6*6 gear + maybe 4 to 6 weapons - so even better.  (this is my weapon, this is my gun... :1_grinning: )

I have only one really working build, the D3 - so I ahve plenty of space lol

Glad to hear the feedback on them, make sure you post up your thoughts on the official forums so they can consider them with the PTS and final build of 1.6.1.
